Grant (Offered by COST Action FP1106 STReESS)
The COST Action FP1106 STReESS - Studying Tree Responses to extreme Events: a SynthesiS (http://www.cost.eu/domains_actions/fps/Actions/FP1106) is offering five participation grants for Early Stage Researchers (ESR) to attend the 9th International Workshop on Sap Flow. This initiative aims to increase attendance of young scientists at the workshop by providing participation funds. Increasing diversity among the workshop attendees is another primary goal. All ESRs from STReESS-participating countries (see link above) are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applications must be submitted electronically using the template below to submission@sapflowworkshop.info. Submission deadline is Friday, March 1, 2013.
Applicants must submit for review to the STReESS Grant Committee:
- an abstract of the research that they intend to present at 9th International Workshop on Sap Flow
- a paragraph expressing why attending the 9th International Workshop on Sap Flow would enhance their involvement in the COST Action STReESS
Grant selection criteria are based on:
- the science and the quality of the abstract
- the statement about how attending the workshop will have an impact on the applicant's (long-term) involvement in the COST Action STReESS
Applicants who are selected to receive a grant will be notified by email by March 8, 2013. Non-recipients will be notified shortly thereafter.
Should unforeseen events prevent a grant recipient from attending the 9th International Workshop on Sap Flow, the recipient must notify prof. Kathy Steppe immediately so that another applicant can use the funds to attend the workshop.
